Dear Student
RE: AD3.1 Assessment Thursday 14th January
We are aware that you have been under pressure during the last three
weeks due to the requirements and timing of the hand-in for AT3.1. For
many of you this has resulted in you having very little time to develop
your main design projects for AD3.1. In view of this and to recognise
the pressures you have been under we propose the following:
The review date on January 14th remains as timetabled but as a draft
full pin up.
This means that we require you to pin up a complete project which
includes all your early work, research and analysis as well as a
developed scheme/sketches/models etc but it does not need to be fully
presented with finished drawings – sketch plans to scale on the site,
for example, would be acceptable.
It is hoped that there will be external visiting reviewers at the full
draft pin up on 14th January to guide you.
Thursday 7th January will be a Third Year studio day and it is hoped
that all will attend.
In not requiring you to fully present your schemes with finished
drawings, it gives you additional design time to develop your work. The
full draft pin up on 14.01.09 gives you an opportunity to get good
design tutorials and feedback on your design and areas of work which
could be improved. We would aim, in addition to the design feedback, to
list omissions or areas requiring improvement to give you guidance for
your final submission.
As always, remember, in planning your full draft pin up, you are
telling a complete story so plan for a comprehensive narrative of your
work in your display. Your final submission will be the following week.
Thursday 21st January, therefore, becomes the final review and initial
assessment of AD3.1, instead of a portfolio review. (Module AD3.1 will
be re-assessed at the end of Semester 2.)
The draft portfolio review will take place around Easter.
To recap:
Thursday 7th January is a studio day.
Thursday 14th January is a draft full pin up.
Thursday 21st January is the final review and initial assessment of
AD3.1.
Any queries, please e-mail via X-Stream over the holiday.
Broadcasting Place closes on Thursday 24.12.09 and re-opens on 4th
January 2010.
Best wishes for the Christmas Break and for 2010 from the Level 3 tutors.
